Contract Medical Officer

Qualification :
MBBS/MD

Experience :
Minimum 5 years (including internship period). Preference will be given to applicants with experience in casualty/industrial/aviation medicine.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Carry out Pre-flight Medical Examination and Breathalyzer Test on all crew departing from Mumbai.

Remuneration :

MBBS degree :
Rs. 14,000/- per month as per 30 Hours per week

MD degree

Rs. 15,000/- per month as per 30 Hours per week.
Rs. 300/- additional for working on National Holidays.

The Medical Officers working for less than 30 Hours/week will be paid on pro-rata basis.

10 days leave in a year on pro-rata basis after completion of six months.

The unutilized passages can be accumulated for one year.

Retired or Medically grounded Instructors from the above Organisations are also eligible.

Age
Maximum age of 55 yrs as on 01.01.2008. Any candidate above the age of 55 yrs will be considered only on contract basis.

Relaxation in age/reservation for SC/ST/OBC will be as per Govt. rules.
Preference will be given to those having experience in the following
Operations (Navigation, Meteorology, Aerodynamics & Engines, Performance, Weather Minima, Weight & Balance, Fuel Management, Special operations such as ETOPS, RVSM, RNAV, High Latitude and Polar Operations, MNPS)

Human Factors & CRM, Aviation Psychology, Aviation Medicine, Accident / Incident Investigation, Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and Quality Management Systems.

Airline personnel

The various types of airline personnel include:

Flight crews, responsible for the operation of the aircraft. Flight crew members include:
- Pilots (Captain and First Officer: some older aircraft also require a Flight Engineer)
- Flight attendants, (led by a purser on larger aircraft)
- in-flight security personnel on some airlines (most notably El Al)
Groundcrew, responsible for operations at airports. Ground crew members include:
- Aerospace and avionics engineers responsible for certifying the aircraft for flight and management of aircraft maintenance
  - Aerospace engineers, responsible for airframe, powerplant and electrical systems maintenance
  - Avionics engineers responsible for avionics and instruments maintenance
- Airframe and powerplant technicians
- Electric System technicians, responsible for maintenance of electrical systems
- Avionics technicians, responsible for maintenance of avionics
- Flight dispatchers
- Baggage handlers
- Rampers
- Gate agents
- Ticket agents
- Passenger service agents (such as airline lounge employees)
Reservations agents, usually (but not always) at facilities outside the airport.

Airlines follow a corporate structure where each broad area of operations (such as maintenance, flight operations, and passenger service) is supervised by a vice president. Larger airlines often appoint vice presidents to oversee each of the airline's hubs as well. Airlines employ lawyers to deal with regulatory procedures and other administrative tasks.
